It's hard to stay motivated without something looming, and without organized team workouts. I'm trying to keep up some kind of fitness regime but honestly I'm still just tired, and am enjoying sitting on the couch a little more. Of course, I can already feel the waistline expanding a bit, which is why I'm about to hit the trails above UCSC for a little jog. Hopefully I'll get in ~5 miles but I'd be happy with 2.5-3.
I'm trying to figure out what to sign up for to keep myself moving - considering joining a gym, maybe shelling out a hair more for a personal trainer (I like to be held accountable for my workouts!), and maybe joining Master's Swimming. All good options. There are some group bike rides on the weekends that I'll try to hit, and then there's water polo... I might skip the water polo and focus on individual stuff instead, but I don't know yet. Water polo is also awfully expensive...
One of my first steps should be putting the pedals back on my bike. It's been in the garage since early April 6th sans pedals (from being shipped back from Hawaii) and I keep meaning to get to it... Any minute now.
Today at least I'm off to explore what are sure to be muddy trails. Actually, I'd better go while I still am feeling even a hair motivated!
